How Rapleaf Advertising Opt Out Works
You can opt out of the targeted advertising delivered by Rapleaf by requesting an "opt-out" cookie (a blank cookie) from Rapleaf's network (rlcdn.com) to prevent information from being uniquely associated with your browser from one visit to the next.
Opting-out does not mean you won't receive online advertising. However, because the network isn't able to uniquely identify your browser, the Rapleaf Advertising Network is unable to deliver ads tailored to your Web preferences and usage patterns.
When you opt-out, the Rapleaf assigns you the following cookie: www.rlcdn.com_optout rather than a cookie with a unique string of numbers and characters. When receiving this cookie, the Rapleaf Advertising Network understands that you have opted-out. This "opt out" cookie is unable to identify your unique browser activity.
